بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَٱلْفَجْرِ
﴿١﴾
By the Dawn,
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍۢ
﴿٢﴾
By the ten nights,
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
وَٱلشَّفْعِ وَٱلْوَتْرِ
﴿٣﴾
By the Even and the Odd,
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَسْرِ
﴿٤﴾
By the night when it departs!
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
هَلْ فِى ذَٰلِكَ قَسَمٌۭ لِّذِى حِجْرٍ
﴿٥﴾
Is there an oath in that for one possessing intellect?
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ
﴿٦﴾
Have you not regarded how your Lord dealt with [the people of] `Ad,
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
إِرَمَ ذَاتِ ٱلْعِمَادِ
﴿٧﴾
[and] Iram, [the city] of the pillars,
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
ٱلَّتِى لَمْ يُخْلَقْ مِثْلُهَا فِى ٱلْبِلَٰدِ
﴿٨﴾
The like of which was not created among cities,
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
وَثَمُودَ ٱلَّذِينَ جَابُوا۟ ٱلصَّخْرَ بِٱلْوَادِ
﴿٩﴾
And [the people of] Thamud, who hollowed out the rocks in the valley,
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
وَفِرْعَوْنَ ذِى ٱلْأَوْتَادِ
﴿١٠﴾
And Pharaoh, the impaler
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
ٱلَّذِينَ طَغَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْبِلَٰدِ
﴿١١﴾
—those who rebelled [against Allah] in their cities
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
فَأَكْثَرُوا۟ فِيهَا ٱلْفَسَادَ
﴿١٢﴾
And caused much corruption in them,
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ سَوْطَ عَذَابٍ
﴿١٣﴾
So your Lord poured on them lashes of punishment.
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِٱلْمِرْصَادِ
﴿١٤﴾
Indeed your Lord is in ambush.
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
فَأَمَّا ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ إِذَا مَا ٱبْتَلَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَأَكْرَمَهُۥ وَنَعَّمَهُۥ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّىٓ أَكْرَمَنِ
﴿١٥﴾
As for man, whenever his Lord tests him, and grants him honour, and blesses him, he says, `My Lord has honoured me. `
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
وَأَمَّآ إِذَا مَا ٱبْتَلَىٰهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقَهُۥ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّىٓ أَهَٰنَنِ
﴿١٦﴾
But when He tests him and tightens for him his provision, he says, `My Lord has humiliated me. `
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
كَلَّا ۖ بَل لَّا تُكْرِمُونَ ٱلْيَتِيمَ
﴿١٧﴾
No indeed! No, you do not honour the orphan,
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
وَلَا تَحَٰٓضُّونَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلْمِسْكِينِ
﴿١٨﴾
And do not urge the feeding of the needy.
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
وَتَأْكُلُونَ ٱلتُّرَاثَ أَكْلًۭا لَّمًّۭا
﴿١٩﴾
You eat the inheritance rapaciously,
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
وَتُحِبُّونَ ٱلْمَالَ حُبًّۭا جَمًّۭا
﴿٢٠﴾
And love wealth with much fondness.
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
كَلَّآ إِذَا دُكَّتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ دَكًّۭا دَكًّۭا
﴿٢١﴾
No indeed! When the earth is levelled to a plain,
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
وَجَآءَ رَبُّكَ وَٱلْمَلَكُ صَفًّۭا صَفًّۭا
﴿٢٢﴾
And your Lord [ `s edict] arrives with the angels in ranks,
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
وَجِا۟ىٓءَ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِجَهَنَّمَ ۚ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ
﴿٢٣﴾
The day when hell is brought [near], man will take admonition on that day, but what will that admonition avail him?
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
يَقُولُ يَٰلَيْتَنِى قَدَّمْتُ لِحَيَاتِى
﴿٢٤﴾
He will say, `Alas, had I sent ahead for my life [in the Hereafter]! `
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
فَيَوْمَئِذٍۢ لَّا يُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌۭ
﴿٢٥﴾
On that day none shall punish as He punishes,
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
وَلَا يُوثِقُ وَثَاقَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌۭ
﴿٢٦﴾
And none shall bind as He binds.
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
يَٰٓأَيَّتُهَا ٱلنَّفْسُ ٱلْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ
﴿٢٧﴾
`O soul at peace!
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
ٱرْجِعِىٓ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةًۭ مَّرْضِيَّةًۭ
﴿٢٨﴾
Return to your Lord, pleased and pleasing!
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
فَٱدْخُلِى فِى عِبَٰدِى
﴿٢٩﴾
Then enter among My servants,
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
وَٱدْخُلِى جَنَّتِى
﴿٣٠﴾
And enter My paradise! `
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
