بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَٱلشَّمْسِ وَضُحَىٰهَا
﴿١﴾
By the sun and her forenoon splendour,
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَىٰهَا
﴿٢﴾
By the moon when he follows her,
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّىٰهَا
﴿٣﴾
By the day when it reveals her,
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰهَا
﴿٤﴾
By the night when it covers her,
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا بَنَىٰهَا
﴿٥﴾
By the sky and Him who built it,
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا طَحَىٰهَا
﴿٦﴾
By the earth and Him who spread it,
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
وَنَفْسٍۢ وَمَا سَوَّىٰهَا
﴿٧﴾
By the soul and Him who fashioned it,
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَىٰهَا
﴿٨﴾
And inspired it with [discernment between] its virtues and vices:
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا
﴿٩﴾
One who purifies it is felicitous,
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّىٰهَا
﴿١٠﴾
And one who betrays it fails.
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَىٰهَآ
﴿١١﴾
The [people of] Thamud denied [Allah `s signs] out of their rebellion,
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
إِذِ ٱنۢبَعَثَ أَشْقَىٰهَا
﴿١٢﴾
When the most wretched of them rose up.
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ نَاقَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَسُقْيَٰهَا
﴿١٣﴾
The apostle of Allah had told them, `This is Allah `s she-camel, let her drink! `
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُم بِذَنۢبِهِمْ فَسَوَّىٰهَا
﴿١٤﴾
But they impugned him and hamstrung her. So their Lord took them unawares by night because of their sin, and levelled it.
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقْبَٰهَا
﴿١٥﴾
And He does not fear its outcome.
— Translation — Ali Quli Qarai
